Gourmet Goats at Stoke Mill Farm

Most of the goats at Stoke Mill Farm are Boer goats, shown in the left hand photograph with their owner Anthea, and they are reared for their meat.  The goats farm was established here seven years ago and has featured on the Chanel 4 River Cottage series and the Meridian Countryside programme.  Stoke Mill Farm goat meat is available in local farm shops, most popularly as sausages with a flavourful seasoning.  Stoke Mill Farm also has Anglo-nubian goats that are usually reared for their milk, which can be made into a feta-type cheese in the summertime. More photos.  

A meat supply is usually available to order.  Joints are similar to those cuts taken from lamb and therefore have taken the lamb names for joints.  A monthly supply is delivered to the Washingpool Farm Shop, where our speciality goat and pork sausages are popular.  Gourmet Goat meat can also be found at Green Valley organic shop at Godmanstone.  A half or whole carcass may also supplied with butcher cut joints vacuum packed and boxed if required for collection.
